I've been a Computer Engineer for 32 years. Blue Iris is the most amazing software and it works very reliably. I have 5 different models of IP camera and a total of 7 cameras. A few of them running at 1080p resolution. On a single mid-range PC it is capable of handling the constant recording of all cameras with the PC barely idling. Blue Iris has a thousand options and is very tailorable to your needs. The iPhone app allows you to easily monitor cameras and alerts. Alarms can be set to alert you via SMS, email, sounds, FTP, Webcast, etc, and even directly to the iPhone and Android apps, which are instantaneous. I cannot imagine anything could be better at any price.
